Scenic design and painting

A selection of scenic design and painting projects for TV, film and public instilations.

I trained at the BBC in Norwich designing and painting sets for News, Current affairs, and Arts Programs. Then moved to BBC Leeds then Manchester where I worked on Children's Sports, LE and daytime shows.  Since moving to HTV in Bristol and then starting my own company Big Squid I have worked on many projects for the BBC, ITV, C4, Nat Geo and Discovery channels, film companies and public installations.
I now work as a freelance sculpture/Painter for a number of scenic design and build companies. Over the last few years I have worked within big teams on projects for Netflix in London, Cardiff, Bradford and Bristol.

Project example
A creative space for The Bible Society head office in Swindon.

I was commissioned by The Bible Society to design a flexible creative space for the staff at their head office in Swindon. Working closely with the management team I created a design which encouraged better communication, creative thinking and enhanced the staff's experience.  A prayer room and small library were designed to feel like a light house.  The inspiration came from an old fishing boat I found at a reclamation yard which looked like a fishing boat from lake Galilee and now is the center piece of the project.
